As one of the national public welfare industry (agriculture) scientific research projects in 2009, the Ministry of Agriculture launched the "Research and Demonstration of Integrated Supporting Technology System for Clean Agricultural Production and Rural Waste Recycling" project on the 15th.
According to Yang Linzhang, the chief scientist of the project and researcher of the Nanjing Institute of Soil Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China's agricultural production is currently generally faced with problems such as excessive input of agricultural chemicals, unreasonable management of production process, decline in environmental quality of producing areas, and unreasonable disposal of agricultural wastes.
The project will take the economically developed areas in the south and the main grain producing areas in the north as the main research areas, and take the recycling of rural waste as the starting point. Through the research on the reduction of agricultural inputs, production process management and pollutant emission reduction technologies, as well as the recycling technology of waste discharged during agricultural production, the project will form a clean agricultural production in the rice growing areas in the south, dry farming areas in the north and the main vegetable producing areas in the north Clean environment and rural waste recycling technology integration system.
In addition, the study will propose compensation mechanisms and measures to promote cleaner agricultural production and rural waste recycling. It is also planned to establish cleaner production and rural waste recycling demonstration areas in Taihu Lake, Jiangsu Province, and Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, respectively, for rice growing areas in the south, dry farming areas in the north, protected vegetable cultivation in the south, and protected vegetable cultivation in the north.
