Focus
Every company that produces, processes or markets organic products must be certified according to the requirements of the EU Organic Regulation. These products can be agricultural products such as seeds and seedlings, food or feed grains, vegetables, fruit, animals, products of animal origin such as eggs or milk. All further processed organic products, such as bread and bakery products, dairy products, snacks, etc. also fall within the scope of the EU Organic Regulation. The same applies to organic animal feed.
What you need to know
The market for organic products is growing continuously and consumers are increasingly demanding organic raw and processed products. To benefit from this boom in the European market, you need to ensure that your products are labelled as organic - certification under the EU Organic Regulation makes this possible.
Organic or ecological products are those that are produced in a way that avoids the use of synthetic chemicals, are produced without the use of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides, do not contain genetically modified products and have been processed according to strict specifications of the EU Organic Regulation. Proof of a product's "organic" or "eco" status requires detailed records and on-site inspections.
